Ok, so long story short:

(1) It was my extended familiy's Christmas Meal out at a nice pub up the road that does really good food and there were 15 people there inlcuding us two.

(2) I'd hidden the ring in a cracker, in the little lipstick box that was (very conveniently) in there when we opened it.

(3) She didn't have a clue what was going on when she found the ring - she was distracted by the shiny gold ribbon we'd attached to it (to help us find it if it went flying). Bless, I only think it sunk in once I got up, went round the table and got down on one knee..! (she is blonde after all).

(4) I don't really remember what I said, it wasn't planned!

(5) Everyone was clapping and smiling and one was crying - it was awesome!

(6) The landlord brought us a bottle of bubbly goodness for toasting purposes!
