The saying is "It's always better to give than receive."

However, it doesn't say that receiving is bad. It's a lot of fun! For many of you, it's already Christmas Eve, and some folks open all their gifts on Christmas Eve, so, post what you received for Christmas this year. If you receive more, just edit your post.

I've already been to two family Christmas parties, so here's what I got:

*A collector's set of 4 Star Wars mugs complete with Star Wars hot cocoa and Star Wars marshmellows. The mugs are :awesome:!
*A tape measure and a flashlight
*$50 Gift card to Hastings Entertainment store.
*$15 iTunes gift card (mostly spent on 12 songs by The Police and one by Yes)
*floor squeegee (I really wanted one because water comes in my garage under the door when it rains)
*Stargate SG-1: Season 2
*Night Ranger: Greatest Hits
*Star Wars Insider
*an LED/laser combo thingy
*a stopwatch for if I'm ever able to return to jogging again
*$500 (which will go to medical bills)
*massage chair
*Nerds (the candy <3)
*$75 giftcard to Wal-Mart
*$100 giftcard to Lowe's

Star Wars.. Marshmellows?
What year?
2007-12-23, 9:33 PM #3
I haven't opened any gifts yet, but I did buy a few things for myself in anticipation of Christmas.

Most notably, a Logitech Wave Keyboard:

And authentic Jayne Cobb knit hat:

It was the best replica I could find. Wool sucks, so it's acrylic yarn. The stitching looks thicker and more dense than all the others I've seen, and includes an extra pompom. It was only $26 too, which is great considering how previous auctions went above $40.

Money. I know that's all I'm getting. Cause that's all I asked for.

That and some clothes.

Don't insult my wool! Wool is awesome.

Anyway I was delinquent with my shopping. Oh well I got it done. I only really buy gifts for my family anyway.

Wool is a problem for me because it is itchy, especially with my thick hair. Wool/synthetic blends are good though.

Went to a White Elephant shindig at my sister's last night and got a quesdilla maker.

Don't know what else I'm getting - I'm suspecting that my parents and grandparents went in on something like a portable DVD player, a tablet notebook, or Guitar Hero 3, since they were both quite adamant that I buy nothing during Black Friday at Best Buy.

I post on a messageboard about how I met a pretty Swedish girl once and how I wish I had known how to speak Swedish properly. Internet person, after looking at my profile picture on said messageboard, infers I would not have had a chance anyway, due to being ugly. Darkness invades my mind as if I were struck with the blade of all my troubles.

I got a Sansa e200 (which has just finished charging!) and a bunch of Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler CDs (so I can stop taking my Dad's, I guess). I also have two tickets to go and see Mark Knopfler in concert in May with my Dad, although I've known about that for a couple of months :D

Also, money.

Before I moved out for Christmas we did Secret Santa in the flat, and my flatmate bought me Nausicaa on DVD and this awesome poster. She knows me very well, and it's only been three months.
