I still have the trumpet I got and played from 4th grade to 12th grade. I graduated high school 4 years ago, so I've had it for more than a decade by now. It's been in storage for those same 4 years, most of the valves are stuck, it's riddled with dents and horribly out of tune, and the spring on the spit valve is broken. I should get a new one, but I don't feel like spending that much cash on something I'll probably continue to not play.

I played trombone regularly from 5th grade until I graduated high school. Then I played constantly for 2 years while I was majoring in music. However, that came to an end when I decided to switch majors back in the fall.

Man, I wish I took the time during my school days to learn to play an instrument. The only time I've learned to play something was back in the 3rd grade where I was given a black whistle in the disguise of a flute. I remember that many of the kids like myself never really learn to play the thing right because whenever the teacher tried to have us play a song, most of us just randomly covered the various holes on the flute with our fingers and blow through the flute. Ahhh... good times :)

You know you will go blind if you touch your trumpet...
Trust me with your life but not your money or your wife.

I've played the tenor horn since primary 5 but haven't touched it since I left high school. Although that was only 6 months ago.

I wanna learn to play the trombone.

i learned at a young age that learning instruments like flutes, trombones, trumpets, etc.. will not assist you when chasing tail... instruments used in blues, rock, metal and variants of those 3... with the right notes the clothes almost remove themselves

the guitar especially... it is like a magical object that can allow even the ugliest of men to mate with attractive females

Unless you happen to play multiple instruments. Guitar, trombone, and a little piano.
