Anyone know why a Belkin Router suddenly times out downloads? Also kills youtube videos and randomly doesn't let pages load. And as far as I can tell, wired only is having these problems, wireless is cooperating?

i had the belkin n1. it sucked too. replaced it with some netgear thing that looks like it has a blue glowing brain on top. works pretty well.

I've got a netgear wireless card for my desktop, and this thing's a piece of ****. Besides the random bluescreens every week or so ( looks like it doesn't like screensavers) the frequency is way too close to one of our cordless phones

As far as I'm concerned, the only router worth using anymore is the Linksys WRT-54GL or similar Buffalo brand.

The custom firmwares for them are AMAZING.

My sister sent back a belkin and they sent her a new one... I've had problems with some netgears in the past. Currently using a dlink, no problems really. Two computers + a DS + a Wii all using the wireless, then my main computer and the networked printer using the wired.

The thing about routers is that brand seems to matter not nearly as much as individual model. There are some really nice Netgear routers and then there are most Netgear routers, which are rubbish.
