just a question, but who do you guys think does the best new years celebrations.

My vote is for sydney, as having it out on the harbour is a beautiful sight to see, and you can actualy see what is going on from quite a distance away without having to be on top of a very tall building (like you would need to in times square.)

Fireworks for New Years aren't really popular here. My sister went to Niagara Falls and apparently they do them there.

Yeah I didn't even know people did fireworks for new years. It seems unlikely that many people have enough experiences to say what places are better.

well, since there was over 50 000 persons for an outdoor show in the middle of quebec winter, they'll do it every year now.

they were aiming for 15 000 ....

I reckon the ones in Sydney are probably the best, but I always like the ones in Edinburgh.

nope.

Las Vegas doesn't do a bad job, but all the videos I can find are from silly tourists on the strip. They look best several miles away, where you can see all the casinos and then all the fireworks coming up off of them.

Seattle was funny this year. I wasn't watching, but the computer running things messed up and they had to try a few times to make it work, then finally did it manually. The music did not sync up at all. :p

Scots know how to throw a hogmanny celebration, as do those convict aussies.
Code:
if(getThingFlags(source) & 0x8){
  do her}
elseif(getThingFlags(source) & 0x4){
  do other babe}
else{
  do a dude}

oooh I'd like to see fireworks in Edinburgh. Or Sydney, really
Fincham: Where are you going?
Me: I have no idea
Fincham: I meant where are you sitting. This wasn't an existential question.

When someone at the local ammo plant throws a cigarette down in the wrong spot. <-- BEST FIREWORKS EVER...even if you can't see anything for the trees. Fireworks just loose all their "oomph" when you compare them to the blast of 750lb bombs...
