I definitely agree with you with regards to the security of personal information and being concerned with disclosing personal information. I don't have concerns with Microsoft having any of my personal information. If I did I wouldn't use their service. I don't have any problem with disclosing email address, physical address, and phone number to a business that provides me a service. I get XBox related email occassionally that does not bother me (in fact I still kind of kick myself for not acting on the HD-DVD offer that included five free HD-DVDs, season 1 of Heroes, and the HD-DVD player which comes with King Kong for the price of the player). Plus, a selling point of their service is that it is regulated and not anonymous like other services.
