My truck burned me.

So yeah. My friend was poking around under the dash looking for a flashlight, and pulled a wire. Killed my dashboard lights/turn signals/running lights. I was poking around trying to figure out what wire it was. Connected the wrong ones and it got very hot very quickly. Melted some skin on my left middle finger, and also filled the truck with smoke. Got it disconnected fast luckily. Anyway, electronics suck. :argh:

I drove home in the dark with only headlights, brakelights, and a flashlight to check my speed occasionally. Didn't get pulled over anyway.

>_>

By reconnecting the power after messing with the wires? It will take longer, but you'll walk away with all fingers intact. You NEVER mess wires when they're powered. What's your next trick going to be, sticking a fork in an outlet?

Well... considering you have the internet, why not find a wiring diagram for said truck and trace the wire path.

You don't strike me as the type of person who would drive a truck (Greenboy). Interesting.

Sometimes you have to. There have been countless times on the jobsite with dad where I had to work on a receptical (plug) or switch and it wasn't possible to kill the breaker. I've had to work on a 480V/400A electrical panel with all 400A juicin' through that panel. That was a scary.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

1988 4cyl 2wd toyota. Not exactly a monster. I like it because I get good gas mileage and I can haul stuff.

You wanna have some real fun pop the hood and pull a spark plug wire and grasp the end with the engine running. The worst part about it is you know it's going to bite you at least one or two more times before you can process the command to drop it!

Fixed it today. Blew 3 fuses.. no major damage as far as I can see so far.
