So all my computer stuff came, but I'm having trouble getting vista to work. Instead of typing everything again, I'll link you here, where I found someone with the same problem.

(I'm "whooz" btw")

My roommate was setting up his HTPC with Windows Vista and had this same problem. He simply tried installing it a few more times and the issue resolved itself.

What about this?

Solution: don't use 64-bit.

can you disable the multiple cores in the bios? if you can set it to look like a single core system, do that and see if it installs. then once you get windows loaded you can turn it back on.

if you do that, don't activate windows until after you turn the cores back on, otherwise it will just make you activate again.

Yeah, seriously, don't use 64-bit. Just stick to 32-bit.

I have 4gb of ram.

And yeah Wolfy, I was looking through those earlier but nothing seemed to help... (I don't have that bios setting.)

My bios has a safe mode, maybe I've give that a try.

Hm, I found a bios update that might help...

You know, my 32bit Vista install froze near the end and I booted it up without issue...
