Post and discuss your reflections/comments.

I regret to say that I missed a majority of the GOP half, despite my being a registered Republican. :[ I'll have to see if the debate was recorded elsewhere, like on Youtube.

This may be blasphemy around these parts, but I was actually impressed by Clinton's performance. She really hammered down on Obama. I like Edwards, but I don't think he shone as much as he could have.

I was also amused by the huge Ron Paul callout poster that was lowered in front of the Hillary ones when ABC provided some footage from outside the debate.

Romney did indeed. I think Giuliani pretty much took him out of the running...if you're running republican, don't **** with Reagan.

Man, just watching that Democratic half of the debate (didn't catch much of the GOP one, except for Romney getting just destroyed on that issue regarding health insurance) made me laugh. That last question that Gibson asked "What is one thing you said that you look back on and might want to take back?" was pretty much an invitation for the candidates to appear human and kind of joke around. Edwards and Thompson did, but the spin that Obama and Hilary put on that question just made me cringe. "While I may have said a few things that I regret, what's more important is that candidates are listening to the voice of the people!"

The sad thing is that people fall for that stuff. It's a silly example, but, it kind of exemplifies the nature of these early debates.

I was kind of impressed with Obama, considering he is in that league of politics. Granted we wouldn't have the top tier candidates talking about ending the war on drugs or other things that I think need to be done, but he is at least more progressive than any of the GOP candidates so I would actually consider voting for him if he gets the nomination, last night helped me with that a little bit.

If Clinton gets the nomination, I'm voting for a third party.

Edit: also here are links to the debates in their entirety on youtube (I believe, I haven't looked at them yet)
