Well my computer sucked... and i was broke...

today my mom mentions a computer she saw in the best buy ad so i figured why not... it may be a crapaq but you never know and it will do until i can buy and build a much better one

well we got the computer

AMD Athlon XP 3000+
512MB RAM
160GB HD
Integrated crap graphics

purchased to put in the computer
512MB RAM to upgrade to a full GB
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB (after searching all over town for the 256MB version we went back to best buy and got that one)

and a special deal with the broadband service we signed up for at best buy gives me one free PC game after mail in rebate

... my luck has changed

I still have friends who are waiting to cash in their damned HL2 coupons they got with their 9800XTs and such.

They apparently will be able to get in on the CS: Source beta because of those coupons, however. Not that any of them want to play CS: Source, because, well... it's CS, and we all know what THAT community is like.

I didn't know that ATI were going to bundle games with their new chipset. Heh, my brother bought a Radeon 9800pro about a week ago, and he's been on holiday since then, and hasn't had a chance to use it. If only he'd have waited, at no inconvenience to himself, he'd have perhaps got a free game. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

I was going to post a new topic, but decided against it sense this is up. Just upgraded my computer, only parts we kept were the floppy and hard drive.

  • Intell HT 2.6 processor
  • ATI Radeon 9600 XT
  • Sound Blaster Audigy ZS
  • Maxtor 160 gig Hard drive
  • 516 RAM
  • Memorex DVD Drive
  • LITEON DVD/CD Writer/Rewriter
  • Intell Motherboard, don't remember which exact one off the top of my head.


Before this, it was a 500mz processor, with a NVIDA TNT 2 32mb video card. And the Far Cry demo runs with hardly a skip. Yes, I'm very happy right now.

OSX isn't too different from linux, being based on BSD and all, you know... so it shouldn't be that hard to port. Hell, it even uses a special version of xfree86.

oh man and now i'm starting to look back at games i was wanting to look into for xbox and now i'm not so sure... like juiced for example... i'm sure the xbox version won't look this nice
