Now that I have your attention, i would just like to postulate a question to you guys.

Take for a moment, and consider what you would do if you knew when the end was coming. Whether it be the total annihilation of earth, or just the end of your life. Say you had... 4 years. What would you do? Would you stock up on goods and prepare for the worst, or just accept it and make the most out of what you can. I was just doing random bored thinking at work and thought I'd ask on here. Maybe start up some interesting discussion.

Interesting inquiry, despite the hypothetical underlinings.

I always imagine my life if some crazy thing was to happen will be like Resistance: Fall of Man or some other video game. Yeah, my life is that boring. You know, find a gun, shoot my first alien/zombie/nazi/hippy/neocon suppressive police force, then I'd go through rubble, find a companion that will drive a jeep while I'm on the mounted gun...you know, that kind of thing. Eventually I'll find out why the world was being destroyed, go into the heart of the problem, destroy some device, and eventually everything fixes its self.

/lame

In the meantime before that happens, I would probably disappear to some hidden place no one knows about and survive in the wild.

No you wouldn't, you'd panic and do stupid things like everyone else. Then you'd take your own life with a shotgun in some futile showy gesture to suggest that you're in control of your own destiny.

Its more of a 'you know bad things are coming, but not EXACTLY when (just within a year or so range) and not how bad. You could die instantly or suffer for years. You could have some time, or no time, to prepare. There may, or may not be horrible mutants or demons or beasts to slay and ward off from your now boarded up safe house you used to call home.

That's a terribly presumptuous of you. I find it hard to believe that everyone would panic. I'm fairly confident I wouldn't be, for numerous reasons (having faced death before being a primary reason).

Normally I would concentrate on getting as much poontang as I could. But it seems likely at this point that it's impossible. And being a weirdo in the desert actually seems more logical :awesome:

I would finish college quietly and then try to raise enough capital to buy myself some way off the planet and sufficient supplies to survive for a long amount of time. Then, while you poor Earth people are facing some mysterious annihilation, I will be drifting in orbit. When things settle down a bit, I will attempt to return to the surface and instill order upon whoever's left. :hist101:
