So I'm finally getting off my butt and getting the education/certification I need to get out of this $8/hr hell hole I'm currently at. I'd like to have the certifications for a variety of things: Computer Support, Server this/that, networking, Microsoft yadda yadda, and quite possibly programming certification.

My question is, what in the heck are all of these referred to as? A+ Certification is hardware? Or is it hardware/software? Or can it be a variety of things? What do I need/don't need?

A+ Cert is all legacy hardware/software. MCSE doesn't have anything to do with programming.

They're both rather easy, and may or may not be any help to you in the job market.

Good luck though.

ALSO, there are numerous guides and manuals to read to help you pass the test.

I'm a MCP, and MCSA.. it's all related to networking in the windows 2003 envirnment. They are nice to have, if you want to get into the IT field, doing networking or consulting for businesses.

I've hear that the MSCE is significantly more difficult than the A+.
