Title says first thing that comes to mind. Anyone else think that's really cool assuming that the softare/hardware isn't going to be proprietary (unlikely I know). Being able to just poke your TV with your flashdrive or your Ipod with another Ipod or hell anything and it starts downloading/playing/etc, that's cool.

What other possibilities/flames did you guys think of ?

Microsoft had a prototype table top computer that did that. Could probably be found easily on google. The table top was a monitor and various interactions were performed with a variety of devices by placing them on the table/monitor.
