The Garand does in fact have Springfield Armory stamped on it and I tried to get a pic of the Nagant's stamps but I just couldn't not get one without reflections obscuring everything.

Also the last black gun is from http://www.hi-pointfirearms.com/

Gun threads suck.
nope.

That Hi-Point is perhaps one of the ugliest weapons I've seen in a long time. Their handguns, however... I like 'em. Might have to get my permit and pick me up one.

Personally, I want a Beretta CX4.

Got no idea about the sling. Same one it's had since I can remember... Also, I have that bayonet too...and the SKS with the 30rd mag sucks.

Camera = Canon Powershot A570 IS

Nice pieces. What do you feed the Garand?

1. turn off the flash
2. good lighting preferably at an angle to the surface the markings are on
3. do not use the auto setting on the camera (autofocus is fine i'm talking about exposure settings)... play with the manual adjustments
4. if your camera has any kind of macro function use it

also one could rub a white crayon across the markings to fill the markings and then clean up the excess with a cloth... it will make even the smallest markings clearly visible regardless of lighting angle example

markings aren't too difficult to get good photos of... at least not stamped markings in metal (ink stamps especially those on fabrics are a pain to photograph) the fun part begins when you try to get good photos of the whole rifle.... especially when a nice bright sunny day and taking the guns outside to photograph them doesn't fit with your schedule... of course even indoors with normal indoor lighting some nice results can happen when playing with various settings

Pretty nice; looks like you've been taking decent care of them.

It's because they take it through with them when they travel. The worry isn't so much that security might confiscate it, but rather, that it'd be lost en route, and wind up at the wrong city.

I'll work on that...

As for what do I feed the Garand, I have a big green metal ammo box filled with 200 (Based on the yellow labeling courtesy of the US Govt which was probably meant for 7.62N rounds...) some odd rounds of .30-06. The labels on the nondescript brown boxes within lead me to believe that they are of Russian manufacture...

Also, the ammo box has Overhead Fire on it... What precisely does that mean?

Sweet. Garands seem to really work best with ball ammo unless they're all tweaked up. IMO, I don't like en bloc clips for "real" use, so I prefer M1s. Except for that ****ing op rod that threatens to tear my hand off.

AFAIK, Overhead fire is when a machine gun is fired over the heads of troops as they advance. I don't know what relevance that has to ammunition type, as I have never seen it on a box of ammo. But I don't work with machine guns anyway.

garands not only work best with surplus but should only be fed military loads

commercial ammo if loaded too hot can damage your op rod
