What cellular service?

This is particular to those here in the states... but you overseaers feel free to chime in.

I used to have sprint, but switched to Helio (I know, same signal) because they had better plans. I really like my plan, but hate that the phones are expensive as hell. And in so limited quantity, but sprints plans are terrible, and TT&A (pun) gets crap signal where I live. The only other choices are Verizon (HAH) and T-Mobile (somehow they still exist)....

I guess this is more of a rant than a question. Why do cell services suck so bad?

T-Mobile still exists because it's pretty much the best one out there.

Haha, well I have three friends and two relatives that would disagree about T-mobile... My aunt still has T-mobile and cannot get a signal within 5 miles of where she lives...

Thats why I only use my cell phone away from home. Too many hills and not enough towers.

T-Mobile is pretty much the only thing here that works. Verizon is bad, AT&T is non-existent, the local phone company's is horrible... and this is a major city (Cincinnati) we're talking about.

Plus, they've been getting the best ratings for quite a while.

Guess they hold the monopoly there. Sprint and Cingular/ATT are the main combatants here in Texas (at least north texas)

I am very very satisfied with Verizon.

AT&T has done me right so far.

T-Mobile and it's the best phone network I've ever used.

Just wish they had better mid-range priced phones. Kinda miss AllTel

Use Verizon and never had a problem with it. I get better reception around here then all my friends who use other services.
Life is beautiful.

AT&T - Had the best service of any of the providers for me this summer. Other people on my fire crew were always complaining about no service. Never a problem for me.

Same. Their service is pricey. But they have the best reception and their customer service is great.

My family has service through Alltel. We've been with them for at least 13 years, starting with one of the installed car phones. It's alright, I suppose, though there are probably better deals with other companies, but then again, I don't use my cell phone a lot, either, so it works.

Verizon.

We've been a Verizon family for as long as I can remember, and the only problem we have ever had is the reception IN our house. Outside it's fine, but inside our four walls it's a wireless deadzone. NO ONE can get reception. Fish can attest.

But other than that, it's great for me. Plans are nice, lots of flexibility with free calling/texting, and great coverage everywhere (except my house).

T-Mobile

And fyi, tmobile is a big player, AoEJedi. So I don't know why you're surprised they're still around. They have #1 customer service (and not just slightly better but WAY better. They have an 85% customer satisfaction rating.. 2nd place is verizon with 37%). They have comparable coverage (and in most major markets, better coverage than AT&T or Verizon), and they have kickass phones. (PC World magazine recently did a article on the top 10 phones in the US, and 5 of them were exclusive to T-Mobile).

So yeah.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

I despise U.S. cellphone providers and their practices.

Verizon. Verizon actually has really good coverage here in San Diego. But any sort of customization on your phone is locked down like a prison and it's $3 for any "features."

I take it US Cellular must be a strictly Maine/New England thing...

I use US Cellular here in Wisconsin, with no issues. I only use about 25 minutes a month on it though, and thats just in my house, so I'm not really sure on how well it operates elsewhere.
