Ketchup is not for putting on sausages you silly person. Sausages go much better with mustard (preferably Dijon or honey mustard). Or maple syrup if its a breakfast sausage.

Unless you're one of those gross people who puts ketchup on everything, like eggs, or grilled cheese, etc. Then there is no hope for you.

Why the heck do you use maple syrup on sausages?

Also, +1 for tomato sauce and sausages.

I understand and respect your liking for various forms of mustard on sausage, but there is nothing wrong with ketchup, either. It's fine on eggs, and great on an omelet, though I've not heard of putting it on grilled cheese.

what i put on sausage depends...

a breakfast sausage... yes maple syrup i'll even buy maple flavored sausages and dip them in syrup

smoked sausage... mustard... i prefer brown mustard over yellow (yellow is for hot dogs and bologna)

bratwurst... sauerkraut or if sauerkraut is not an available option stone ground mustard

polish sausage... sauerkraut... if sauerkraut is not an available option i don't eat it

italian sausage... not much of an italian sausage guy except on pizza
eat right, exercise, die anyway

I love dipping Grilled Cheese into ketchup. I don't know how else you'd have it?

I also like putting a slice of tomato on my grilled cheese before putting on the other piece of toast.

I put ketchup in mac 'n cheese. Also, I can enhance pretty much anything by adding ranch dressing. In fact, I have some on my potatoes right now.

From what I can tell, a breakfast sausage is not smoked like a regular sausage. Some come with seasonings and flavors, such as adding a dash of maple syrup in them (thus allowing them to be quite compatible to be eaten with maple syrup.)

This practice of putting ketchup on all breakfast items is a disgusting habit that should be outlawed.

It's all about eating fancy sausages with all sorts of herbs inside them and without sullying them with horrific overpowered sauces.
Cumberland sausages (cooked with thyme)... Toulouse sausages... Boerewors... *drools*
