Help me plan this LAN party.

Alright guys some friends and I are going to host a lan party soon. However this one has a theme. Old classics. We're looking for any good RTS, FPS or any other game thats a good LAN game, made prior to 2002. I'm proud to say one of our games will be Jedi Knight... ahhh to relive the days of saber-supremity.

So far I am thinking...

Medal of Honor
Call of Duty
Starcraft
Age of Empires
Unreal Tournament
Quake 2

Any other suggestions?

Make sure you have LOTS of modems, hubs, and cables. Also make sure you have enough power for all of the computers. Don't stack power cables, and don't bus the network.

How many people do you plan to have?

(Also, Savage, Command & Conquer, and Tribes are all really fun and free games for lan)

Yeah tribes is a likely game.

We have a couple huge hubs, plenty of cable, its an 8bedroom house (old frat house) and will probably have 8-16 people.

Well, I don't consider it a "classic", but it's free and made before 2002. OpenArena (open source version of Quake 3).

It's probably not free, but Total Annihilation is a good bet.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

I'd go with AOEII instead of the original.

or atleast the expansion to AoE (rise of rome)

if I remember correctly, thats when they added the queue feature for creating units

Serious Sam and Rune.

Thread over.

I loved Rune. It didn't seem very popular, though.

Don't think I ever tried the MP.

My lan parties always end up in wow.

Sad but true.

Rune was awesome! Beatin' people with their own bloody dripping arms, or other people with previous victims' heads.

So far all sound like good ideas, except warcraft... most of the people in this group hate that game and all of its branches.

America's Army. Its free..

I might recommend AoK:TC instead of AoE as well. I love them both, but Age of Kings is just easier to play.
