Tablet PC buying, maybe?

So for quite a while I've been fascinated with the idea of tablet PC laptops. Soon I've got some student loan money coming in and I made sure to have enough to be able to at least get a cheap laptop, but I'd really really really prefer it to be a Tablet because of this fascination with them.

This is the best deal I have been able to obtain so far with the little looking I've done and I have decided to come to you nerdy fellows I associate with to see what you guys think.

The most important thing is to make sure that it has a touchscreen in addition to an active digitizer. The best tablets support fingers in addition to a stylus, can differentiate between the finger and the stylus, and support pressure levels. I think some even support an eraser.

I've been eyeing the HP tx2000. It's about 3x the price of that gateway, though.

That gateway is out of stock, and if it's anything like their older ones, the stylus uses inductive charging or some such and has a battery. You don't want to have to replace the stylus every 6 months. Also they don't have a touch screen, just a digitizer behind the panel.

NoESC, how does the tx2000 sound to you? Think it's a worthwhile buy for someone who mainly wants it to do crappy artwork?

Looks pretty good, I haven't been hands on with one yet. It looks like they fixed my biggest problem with the tx1000 by adding a digitizer to it as well as the touch screen.

I tried to order a tx2000z tonight.

I customized my system using the HP online store. Oh, what's that, Mr. Submit button? It's for Americans only? Well, no problem!

I visited the Canadian HP online store, navigated its perplexing and poorly-designed interface, and discovered that neither the tx2000z nor the ancient tx1000 are offered in Canada.

What.

Why couldn't Apple have announced a tablet at macworld instead of that mba piece of crap. At least Apple, you know, likes money, even if it has strange and unfamiliar symbols on it.

I sent an email to hp's ceo about it I hope he reads it.

If you want a mac tablet there's this.

Otherwise if you ship the tx2000 my way i can ship it to you, don't know how you feel about that though...
