Terrible cough

The past few days I've had a terrible cough. I can take meds and more-or-less be fine during the day and evening, but when I lay down it's a billion times worse. I can't lay down without breaking into intense bouts of coughing. The school nurse gave me some medicine yesterday, but it's done next to nothing. Hot drinks, cough drops, and cough syrup all do next to nothing to help me.

I'm going to try to go to a doctor today if I can find a ride, but... yeah. It started thursday with an annoying cough and stuffy nose, and then I wasn't able to sleep save for maybe an hour Friday/Satuday/Sunday/Monday night.

Needless to say, I'm very fatigued, missing class, and... yeah. Feeling pretty crappy because I can't lay down. I tried propping myself up and sleeping, but that didn't really work.

Oh, and I didn't tell the nurse this, because I didn't think it was important at the time, but I've had a light cough ever since late December. I got 'sick' a couple weeks ago, and now I'm sick again, except this is like uber-sick.

Not one named Massassi.

I sympathize. I just went through something where I couldn't even sit up, let alone stand up, without feeling dizzy and horrible (and I only felt slightly less dizzy and horrible laying down).

Now it seems to have resolved itself to the point where I have to be standing for a good few minutes to feel anything, but it's still annoying. I hope the dumb thing lets go soon.

At least you're just coughing. Last year my sinuses were pumping out sinussnot at a million milkes a minute. If I went past 45 degrees, it all instantly drained down my throat and started choking me.

That was not a fun three days. I slept (sort of) propped up in a chair against a corner.

See a doctor to make sure it's not pneumonia.

I suggest drinking lots of soda, eating greasy foods, and standing outside in the snow after taking a hot shower.

IT'S THE PLAGUE!

But seriously, you have AIDS. Not HIV but full blown AIDS.

But seriously, go see a doctor.

Also, drink Gatorade.

Status update:

I skipped a few of my classes today, went to the 'important' one, and had lunch in the caf. I ran into a girl there that said she'd take me to the doctor, so we went there and she helped me fill out all the forms and stuff. I've never gone to a doctor on my own, so it was kinda... interesting.

Anyway, the doc prescribed some anti-biotics and cough medicine because I guess I just have a cold/ear infection.

Also, the girl that took me happens to be studying to be pharmacist (or something) so it was totally awesome to spend the day hanging out w/ her and having her tell me what's going on (and translating doctor talk for me.)

Yeah.

So... I'm pretty out of it right now due to the lack of sleep, but hopefully this stuff will work better.

$50 seems like a lot to pay for a doctor/drugs (out of my own pocket and not my parents), but it's totally worth it if I get to feeling better.

Ask her out

I'm totally not interested in her, but it was nice of her to take me everywhere today and take care of me.

Don't know if it would help you but it's helped me with similar symptoms.
Zinc lozenges called "Cold-Eeze" avalible for a few dollars at walmart.
Not the best taste in the world but not entirely bad and I've found them to be very effective.

How can you be sure they work and the cold didn't dissipate naturally?

Despite visiting the doctor, my cold is worse, and I'm now totally deaf in my left ear.

I'm really hoping these antibiotics start to take effect soon.
