Family Guy...

I've recently become hooked on this show. I've always liked it but its just been getting better and better for me. I went from simpsons (who have started to lose my interest sadly), to Southpark (still funny), to Futurama (Love it too) and now this. I also like American Dad....

I don't really know why... overall its not THAT funny, but it has maybe 1 or 2 moments in every episode that make me laugh hard. Maybe I'm just starved for entertainment?

I don't know. I used to like Family Guy and now I can't stand it. The way they try to insert humor now gets on my nerves. It's always in a form of an analogy or flashback. It gets old and seems so awkward.

If there will be a new season, it will follow the same format. I should make a template of how pretty much every joke is carried out:"Well this wasn't bad of time when <insert character name> tried to <insert action>. <cue unrelated scene to the plot>"

I've only really liked a few of the newer Family Guys. I think the most recent two I enjoyed was Stewie Kills Lois / Lois Kills Stewie.

I think the newest series of Family Guy have been absolute gold. I still like the older episodes, but some of the material recently has been both shocking and incredibly funny.

Yeah they do flashback humor a lot, but they know it... there was one like you said where stewie goes "well that wasnt as bad as so and so when this happened.............what? no flashback? oh ok... thought we had one there."

The show really overuses the "Let's run with this for as long as possible" gag. It was funny the first few times they did it (e.g. Peter hurting his leg), but now it seems like they just do it because they can.

Yeah. The format seems to be "drag it out for as long as possible, wait til it isn't funny anymore, then do it for longer".

My sentiments exactly. I will often go most of an episode thinking "what a bore", then they'll make one joke that will split my sides. Family Guy isn't what it used to be, but I think it's still a sight better than The Simpsons. Mind you, The Simpsons was still excellent in it's 7th season.

The drag-out jokes are hit and miss. If you laugh at the beginning, you'll laugh the entire time. In the one where they're all throwing up, the first time I was like "this is so retarded." But the second time I saw it, for some reason I couldn't stop laughing.

The dragged out scene of Stewie dancing in Road to Rupert was awful.

I don't really find it that funny.

Some friends and I got together, played poker, and watched some of the first and second season Family Guy episodes. We couldn't stop laughing. It's really hard to watch the newer ones when you go back and see how great it used to be.

The worst one for dragging out is peter fighting the chicken, they've done it in a few episodes and every time they seem to make it longer and more pointless... and it wasn't very funny the first time.

Pfft, the leg thing wasn't funny the first time. Seriously those things get on my nerves.
nope.

It's that kind of show. You either laugh your *** off or you're like, what? It's not not funny just because you don't think it's funny. You just have a different sense of humor. Get over it.
Wikissassi sucks.

Isuwen, obviously it's still funny to some.
Why attack everyone just because they didn't add "to me" each time?
That's like telling everyone to add "imo" after every sentence.

Yeesh, someone's touchy. I like the rest of the programme but I think those bits are just crap.
nope.

Yeah, pretty much.

The first three seasons were great, I thought. Since then they have been okay at best, with an occasional "good" episode.

High school and college students love it, though. It seems they are going more for making money now than making a good show. I can't blame them, really.

The show was worth watching for Stewie.

I've never seen an episode of Family Guy until I watched Blue Harvest. I thought it was hilarious. Except for that old pedo. He's creepy.

He's creepy but hilarious. If you watch the other eps you'll understand better. Bahah.
