...and then a flippin' 60 mph wind blows all day yesterday and took pieces of my roof with it! That's a little overdramatic, but I was picking up my shingles from my yard and my neighbor's yard last night. I climbed up there today and reattached them (scary, since I'm afraid of heights).

I'm lucky, all things considered, though. All the houses across the street were without power for about 36 hours (them and about 8300 people in town according to the news), and they just got it back on. No trees knocked down either, but two came down in my mom's yard and fell across some power lines, snapping the telephone pole in half. Oddly enough, they had power to her house in less than 12 hours.

Any windy weather near you?

Yea, we were getting the same 60+mph gusts... On top of the ice and cold, the walk to class this morning was pretty difficult.

Yeah it's been pretty windy in Toronto for the past day or so. Hit about 70 km/h at one point apparently.

Yeah, it was very windy last night (80 kph gusts). Today it started off that strong, and then dissipated throughout the day. It was also very cold.

not a lot of wind here... but over 2 ft of snow in the last week. :\

I was washing my car yesterday... finally got it dried and was about to apply a nice thick coat of wax... then the wind picked up and I got pelted with freezing rain...

...fun fun >_<

Strong winds out here too. Some local damage like trees and power lines down, houses damaged etc but noting compared to some microburst/tornado damage we got about a year and a half ago.

80 kph winds yesterday.

The day started of with freezing rain, and come mi-afternoon, the temperature had a serious drop below freezing temperature. Everything froze over nicely here.

Its going to take much to bother me however, considering the 1998 Quebec Ice Storm. Slept in the frozen basement of my electricity-less home for about 3 weeks. It was fun learning to live as they did in the olde days. Except for the fact we didn't have a woodstove or fireplace to keep us warm. Had to by one of those heater things and were carefu--

Why am I going on a spiel about this?

Pants.

Pretty windy here in Liverpool. Don't know exact speeds or what-have-you, but seems the entire campus here is designed to create as many narrow, wind tunnel-esque streets as possible.

Ok theres something seriously wrong with the weather here today.

I was walking to uni earlier, its only 5 minutes away and in that time the wind changed directions about a dozen times, it started snowing, stopped, the sun came out and then it started raining.

What? :?
nope.

Cycling the 4 miles between my place and my girlfriend's left me drenched and I had to pedal to go downhill on a few occasions. The wind almost pushed me into vehicles too.
Predicted snow here in the midlands this weekend though! :D

It is eerily quiet here as well.

Do you think it's over, or they're just regrouping?

We had a bit of sleet earlier today. And there's a chance of snow tomorrow.

As a teacher you shouldn't be smoking pot.

It sets a really bad example.
