Well, not really, but there is hope for the series. A mod team is working on a Mech Warrior TC using the Crytech 2 engine. I didn't think much of this at first, but I think they're actually going to do it. This could become *the* mod of '08. What their doing, while obviously very beta looks really good. As long as they can get a decent flight model in game, and make it sim-y enough with loadout configuration options and the like, this could be very good.

It's really new, and they already have some alpha gameplay footage. That's what I thought until I saw that they had already started integrating some assets in game.

Someone should remake JK: DF2. Maybe for Force Unleashed. I want to see rodians grabbing on to things.

The most recent screenshots look amazing. But then again, I'm not used to seeing the Crytek engine, anyway.

You'd think they'd put it on an engine that people could actually play on their machines.

If they actually were making a MW5 you know it would suck right off the bat, because it would be developed for the Xbox. This way all the hardcore Mech guys will get to make a good game using a state of the art engine.

i never got the game so i never looked into it more

some of the work looks good but it's too early to tell

Tell you what though.. a Mechwarrior with realistic building/mech destruction physics would be pretty sweet.

I'd rather have an Action-RPG version of Front Mission that didn't suck though.
