He is the first SWAT man to get killed in action since the organization started.

I wish I could feel remorse, but it comes with the job, and people like me tend to not. *shrug* Hope for the best for his family though.

No, they're LAPD SWAT, they're wearing the best personal ballistic shielding money can buy, well beyond what civilians are allowed to acquire. Unless they're shot repeatedly with hunting rifles or in non-lethal areas, it's rare anything traumatic happens to them.

I feel sorry for all families that lost people in this situation.

And usually, as one would guess, their weapons and tactics are far superior to anyone they're dealing with, which is primarily crazy morons. This sucks...but I guess It's a good thing that he's the first, in that that's a pretty good record. Hopefully it'll be a long time before anything like this happens again.

Probably just LAPD SWAT, being the original. But I don't know, it could be any.

Never underestimate how immensely powerful the right weapons and tactics are. Have you ever watched those swat shows on TV? They rarely even put themselves into dangerous situations. Anyway...I hate to say it, but at least the guy was old. Still way too young, but he had some time.

Officers die on a near-daily basis...over twenty so far this year - over 60% higher than last year. :( SWAT is so highly trained, well armed and (comparatively speaking) rarely used, that there aren't going to be many deaths..
