If only your Macbook had a little umbrella, instead of your drink, this would not have happened.

That should be easy enough to fix if you can disassemble the screen. Do Macs still use screws, or some sort of alien omni-welding technology?

I don't really understand how spilling a drink on it would get the liquid under the screen, though.

I'm the same here.... the liquid had to get in there somehow, just drain it out the same way it got in.

Well, since it isn't just water I wouldn't be surprised if it left a sticky residue behind. He'd really need to take it apart and clean it properly for it to not show at all, I think.

I'm assuming there's a glass or plastic cover over the LCD and that's where the liquid is. If that's the case, you can probably open it up, separate the layers and clean it out. If it has somehow managed to get inside the LCD, you're boned.

You could just tell Apple you have a defective LCD.

They check for water damage first, I really doubt that would work.

I think they would notice pretty fast that it was a defective user. :P

Shortly after getting my laptop about 2 weeks ago, I got clumsy and spilled some Sobe onto the keyboard. For a while, the keys on the right side were getting stuck when pressed (the enter and right shift suffered the most) but thankfully the Sobe goo is starting to wear off.

Sadly I broke the right control key when I was trying to see if I could pop the keys off and plug them back on. Apparently you can't do that with laptop keyboards anymore because they are constructed in a really strange way that makes it impossible to pop them back on. Thankfully the right control key is a useless key.
