They would call those filler episodes if the Bible was a TV show.

Anyhow, #5 and #3 are pretty damn hilarious. Also proves that Old Testament is pretty awesome with its bizarre stories and God's army of 10,000 angels and the New Testament was something that resulted after some ancient Hays Code.

Weird.

The bible makes much more sense if you actually know a thing about history. Most people never realize that the Israelites were actually a militaristic tribal people who conquered and subjugated the Canaanites, or that they were the only group in the area that practiced circumcision. Many of these stories that seem absurd and downright creepy at first glance make perfect sense in the context of history. Post-exodus, the old testament is an amazingly accurate history of the Israeli people, though it is of course rather biased.

Of course others can only be made to be sensible if they are taken as allegory.

No, actually, the Bible makes you want to stop reading it if you know a thing about history.

I think it's kinda lame when writers try to take something and then spin it to try to make it funny. Like, I've seen this stuff done with other things, and I dunno. I'm one of those people that is pretty critical, though, so when people write stuff I'm always like "Well, what about this exception..." or "Yeah, but it's like that because..." It kills the humor, but oh well.

Also, there's weird stuff in the Bible, but it makes a lot more sense if you look at it in the right context. :P

I'm surprised they don't have anything about Boaz being given a sandal for marrying Ruth.
