mscbuck and I have just beaten Through The Fire And Flames on expert co-op.

Soon we will defeat The Devil Went Down To Georgia too.

Who else plays guitar hero?

PS. The Guitar Hero guitars are much better than the Rock Band guitars.

The Guitar Hero guitars are so not better than the Rock Band guitars. :colbert:

Rock Band guitars look better, Guitar Hero guitars play better.

Guitar Hero guitars are lighter (which is odd since they're modelled on gibson rather than fender), more responsive, require a lighter touch to play and the actual guitar parts in the Guitar Hero games are much more enjoyable (this can actually be compared fairly since a lot of songs have appeared in both).

However, Guitar Hero doesn't have drums :(

That's pretty much my opinion right there. Rock Band guitar is so flimsy, but still looks more "real". Plus, the solo buttons I still think are terrible. Making it more unrealistic than hammerons/strumming/pulloffs already are.

GH definitely plays much better

Not enough Feedback on Rock Band Guitar Buttons. They don't depress/click as much as GH ones.

and the strum bar isn't clicky, the strum bar has to click!

Rock band drums are the best thing EVER

Rock band drums need more padding. Real electric drum sets don't sound so toyish when you bang on them.

The real problem with rock band is that the other players are too loud. You're basically screwed if your drummer isn't any good. The vocalists ruin things even more. They'll have to bring out rock band monitors just to fix it all :p

I just beat GH3 on medium last week. Hard is kicking my ***, really need to practice.

Now that they've announced they'll be selling the Rock Band instruments separately, I'm thinking I might pick it up at some point. I figure I can get the game and the drums, and use my GH guitar. Don't really care about singing, but if someone was over and they wanted to I'm pretty sure they can use a 360 headset for that.

I believe you can, but it's pretty low fidelity, and doesn't work too well :/. You can buy another brand of 360 microphone cheaper than the cost for a Rock Band brand one from Best Buy (I think 30 bucks @ best buy the last time I checked).

EDIT: MEant to say you can buy it cheaper on eBay :P

Good to know. Like I said, though, I really don't care about the singing aspect, and I can only think of one or two girls that I know that might be interested.

There's only three songs worth singing that most people can sing on there--Sabotage, Go With the Flow and Tom Sawyer. Sabotage is immense fun to sing/watch though.

Singing on Rock Band EXPERT level is pretty much the same as singing the song for real. It's a lot of fun. My friend had never heard me sing before and was wowed when I nailed Creep 100% on Expert.

I have much more fun playing the bass parts for Won't Get Fooled Again though.

Creep and Dani California are the only songs I can 100%. The others, I don't even try and sing. (Coheed and Cambria! Yikes!)
Think while it's still legal.
2008-02-11, 11:03 PM #20
Trying to sing Coheed and Cambria is pretty much admitting to everyone present you don't have testicles. I refuse to do it.

I will however nail Creep in the upper 80s lower 90s half the time on expert. I can't ****ing do that garbage song, I just refuse. The only reason I'll do the Maps song is because Ted Leo and the Pharmacists cover it.

Also, good to see you around Schming :)

I'd take the Rock Band guitar any day over the GH one. It feels much more like you're actually playing a guitar IMO.

Foreplay / Longtime has the best f-ing guitar intro ever. It's like the most fun song ever to play. (Fun on drums, as well).
