You may have heard the horrible song "Beautiful Girl" by one Sean Kingston.

He's got a new song called "Got to Move Faster." See if you notice anything interesting about this song/video?

You guys are missing the point, though. This is an intel ad in a song. Not a song for an intel ad, but the song is literally an ad for intel. It's on top 20 charts. What is wrong with our youth!?

I lasted 1:06.

And I have heard Beautiful Girls. Don't remind me about it.

I also hate the song "Me Love", mainly because it takes a good Led Zeppelin song and destroys it.

Jesus, I thought that was a joke at first, people actually listen to this crap? People actually give money to "musicians" like this? Seriously?

At the end of the day you have to get paid - it's hard to keep making music when you're broke.

He's not commenting on the music style. He's commenting on the fact that it's a corny half-baked song promoting a computer chip sung by an industry puppet. It's literally a commercial.

Doesn't matter, putting "musician" in scare quotes is pretty much the dumbest thing anyone can do ever

Show me where it is written that if someone takes money in exchange for promoting something, they are no longer a legitimate musician
2008-02-20, 3:17 AM #29
No, I said "'musician'" because that "song" is something a 14 year-old could do with a mac, a microphone, and about 50 minutes. There is no talent behind that song, unless you consider "make sounds that don't seem random" a talent.

You're just jealous because he's getting paid for it.

A musician is just someone who either plays or creates music, regardless of quality, putting it in inverted commas makes you look a tiny wee bit pretentious I guess. I mean sure it's crap but just because a blacksmith makes crappy horseshoes, it doesn't mean he isn't a blacksmith.

If you want to feel better about yourself though [as long as he didn't write it] vocalists aren't always counted as 'musicians' as such depending on your definition.

:colbert:
nope.

fishstickz, I know :(

Bacon, it makes him a ****ty blacksmith though, does it not?

Tracer, there's plenty of music I don't like that I can still respect for the musical talent presented, in fact, I'd say the vast majority of music is in that category. This song is in the other category. The one where I don't like it, and I'm still not hearing talent.
