[sh/sc]System gets strange error then crashes

My computer has been crashing periodically for the last few days, and at first I thought it was a heat problem again, but all temperatures were normal. So I checked the event log and it turns out that every time it crashes, this error occurs:

So basically I don't know wtf. I guess the answer to the obvious question is no, I don't have an HP Deskjet 540. Beyond that, I really don't know anything.

Did you even own/used a HP printer?

Yeah, I have an HP psc 1350, but it hasn't been hooked up for months and is currently sitting in my closet.

Are the drivers still installed?

The printer is calling to your computer... from beyond the closet

Okay so I looked into it a bit further and it turns out that the printer error comes first, but right before the crash I get this error:

Quote:
The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
KS0108
LC7981
SED133x
T6963C

This seems like it would have more to do with a crash, but I still have no idea how to fix it.

Sounds like Windows is trying to install a network printer but can't because it doesn't have drivers for it. It would only really do this if there is an entry for it in Printers and Faxes I think... delete "Auto HP DeskJet 540 on GRAPHIC".

Those driver names look suspicious, do a virus scan. Anyways in device manager you can check "Show hidden devices" in the menu, then look under "non-plug and play devices" to get access to kernel-mode services, which probably includes the ones in the error. You can disable or uninstall ones that you don't need anymore (just be careful and set a system restore point before you start).
