Well I was reading the community events thread and thought a Massassi satire page might be fun to do......then I remembered I'm a really lazy aussie who would never complete said project or be able to make it more than an obvious Onion rip off.

So, forgetting the site idea but still quite bored I just decided to do the next best thing and just -completely- rip off The Onion:

(note - no offence intended to anyone, just a bit of fun [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif] )

(note #2 - Mature Audience Rating, contains very mild language. People under 15 years should seek parental permission)

It was actually really fun to do so I'll likely do some more...over time, don't wanna kill the joke by overdoing it [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] Certainly not this weekend BJ, it's my birthday so I plan to...um....go do something but I'm not quite sure what yet [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif] Probably buy lots of stuff I don't need...

That was exceptionally funny. I reckon that should a once-a-month regular feature of massassi. *starts throwing ideas around* Maybe you could get other people contribute small snippets based on the months thread topics.

It's kinda funny. Not too long ago, I was commenting to Jaiph about the propensity for some of the forumgoers to take something that's initially funny and drive it into the ground from overuse.

One or two? Funny. When it becomes a monthly thing, or an image macro..... no, no thanks.

I have to agree, though, how many can you get before you run out of clever things to say? I think if you just make them when you have something really clever to say would be better, instead of trying to work to a deadline and allowing it to suffer.

And yes, the only people who can work a decent joke into the ground more than the Massassians are people at the Straight Dope... [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Doing it too often would definitely run it into the ground as you obviously need forum/site events to feed the content. It could reach a point where you've outpaced the material and end up really scraping the bottom of the barrell [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

I considered doing the "what do you think?" section as well, but eh - my laziness kicked in. Besides I don't want to go ripping off the WHOLE site [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

I think if you did it bi-monthly that would give plenty of time to

a: forget the previous one
b: garner new content
c: give it a rest in-between
and d: give people time to ask "when's the next 'Massassian' image s'posed to come out LOLZ!!!!!!11"

Great job Jaiph. This was phat pimpin. word.
