Be Kind Rewind (not really any spoilers)

Was an amusing and heartwarming movie. I liked it better than Eternal Sunshine (which was also great, but not my kind of film).

I recommend you all see it.

It speaks well to the "collective consciousness" created by culturally significant films. I don't miss VHS because rewinding is a nuisance and it's annoying to find specific scenes; however, watching the characters make tapes definitely reminded me of having fun filming and editing when I was a kid, using a clunky fade/wipe/title screen machine I plugged into my TV. :)

I want to make moviez!

Anyway, not quite a SAJN review, but I wanted to share my thoughts on a cool film I just saw (in a shady way because it doesn't come out forever in Denmark).

Feel free to discuss the film, VHS memories, art versus profitability, the "media industry," and/or socks.

I kind of want to see it, but something tells me it'd be really dumb.

I don't think you'd love it, but you'd probably enjoy it. It's a quirky type of humor. Some of the things that are overtly supposed to be funny weren't to me, but there were a lot of subtle or clever things that really made me laugh. And the end was heartwarming to me, and this is coming from someone who typically doesn't go for heartwarming scenes.

You know your wannabe-witty comments would be about 100% funnier if they made sense.

Thanks, I'll check it out.

It wasn't meant to be witty. :/

Honestly, he isn't exactly hilarious. Not to say that I don't like his films.

The Tenacious D movie is hilarious if you like Tenacious D, at the worst it's generally still funny.
