You could have checked the other Doom3 threads. Some posted their specs and asked if it would work....

What I mean to say was that will it run on this
config. because if not then I will have to get a new processor. or do I have to run it on low details, res 640*480.....?

Your computer will run, because A guy I know has about the same specs as yours, but it didnt run very good. I Would reccomend upgrading your CPU and graphics card.

Anybody have a clue about my laptop?
2.4Ghz Celeron
194MB RAM
Built in shared video card thingy

Not hopeful, but it made UT2k4 run sort of ok...

thanx man. Now I think i will have to upgrade it to something new. But as the New High end graphics cards are very expensive, i will try to go for used GPU on Ebay.

upgrade your ram and it still might not at best maybe low quality at a low resolution just because the video "card" is probably quite weak... in other words ram upgrade and wait for the demo...

also if you don't have windows2k/xp you are out of luck

Cheers - I've got room for s**tloads more RAM, which will the feed the video "card" too. Oh, and I'm running XP, so no worries there. Didn't demo's used to come out BEFORE the full releases back in the day..? Or is that just me making things up?

really depends on the game... they originally wanted to get the doom3 demo out before the game then decided they should finish the game first

I kind of thinking which card I am going to buy
because I have to keep in consideration that there are other games coming like half life 2, Halo 2 and other great games. Some reviewers has said that ATI will perform much better than
Nvidia cards on half life 2 if this is true then I would like to go for ATI cards. Can someone help me in this one.....?

Okay, don't worry about your card (yet), it'll run Doom 3 fine, 1024x768 2xaa 2xaf medium detail. How do I know? I own that card :P

Get a new processor like...now. 2.0 ghz at the LEAST (or 2100+ if you're going for AMD). Your card you can worry about later on.

don't you mean MHZ?

600 GHZ chips probably won't be around you another 10 years.

Yup Mhz not Ghz............?

Oh, sure, flawlessly... in 320x240. Yeah, 600GHz just MIGHT be here in mabye, 30-40 years.

More like 10-15 years. Maybe less... probably not though.

I can't see it climbing up that high ANYTIME soon. Why? We haven't even milked all we can get out of 2ghz yet. I mean with the introduction of 64-bit computing, lower clock speeds don't neccesarily mean worse. Hell even before that, AMD was showing that smaller MHz!=worse performance.
