Printer help!

Alright this is the first time this has happend. I tried google but since there are millions of printer issues its too hard to search for specifics.

This machine has two identical printers on it, it has had many sets of identical printers and never had an issue. I think these latest ones are fighting eachother. I can only get one to work WELL. The other one will print small jobs but large ones will not complete the send. I can check the queue and it shows something like 936kb/3.45mb sent or whatever the job tends to be.

I'm about to uninstall and reinstall both. Maybe it will work.

At work we have two identical plotters, which 30 or 40 PCs use. We never have problems like that.

What are the two printers connected with, USB?

Both printers (Konica Minolta 4650EN) are on USB to one PC. Yes I know... Konica sucks.

Does it? I don't know, we have a large high volume laser printer/copier/scanner unit that gets used a ton at work and have had few problems.

First and easiest thing to do for your problem is probably what you were going to do, uninstall and reinstall both. I assume you've already tried rebooting, right? Sometimes in Windows the printer spooler service just gets screwed up and restarting it fixes everything. If you don't want to/can't reboot (like if the system you're doing this on is a server), you can try typing "net stop spooler" in the command line, followed by "net start spooler" (in XP, at least).

No its a basic PC on a network but these printers aren't shared. I reinstalled the one that is currently facked and it printed a test page, and is TRYING to print... now its spooling the job once per print. So... 2 pages = 5mb x 500 copies..... well you get the idea.. Its trying to make an enormous print job when it should just do the copies of the single print.

Ok here is what my issue is:

I can watch it climb up to about that far kbs/kbs but it wont ever finish. Just this printer, not both. I've tried both drivers on it (there are two, dont know why). It just wont do it.

Try it on another system, then you'll at least know where the problem lies.
