Anyone here cook -- whether out of necessity or as a hobby? Post your favorite recipes!

(Alternatively, check out Epicurious and search for your favorite foods)

This is delicious, and I'm going to try making this sometime soon.

2 large tortillas
some cheese
black refried beans
enchilada sauce
guacamole

Put everything but the guacamole onto one tortilla, then place the other tortilla on top. Fold into a pentagon. Invert onto medium-low skillet, brown so that folds stay stationary, flip over and brown top side. Place guacamole on top, and enjoy this awesome quesadilla/enchilada hybrid.

I love to cook, I just don't often get the chance. :P Damn Uni.

Anyway, heres a really simple recipe for mince and tatties. Simple as hell but possibly one of the most flavoursome meals ever. :P

Beef or Lamb mince
Half a small onion
Small - Medium sized carrot
2 Decent sized Potatoes
~3 teaspoons of gravy granules

In a small pot brown your mince, I prefer lamb personally but its all up to what you like/have. Dice the onion and peel+slice the carrot. Once the mince is browned, add the onion and carrot and immediately top up with boiling water [yay kettle] to roughly half an inch above the dry ingredients, set to a medium heat, cover and simmer for an hour.

While thats happening you want to peel and slice potatoes into 1-1.5 inch chunks, place in a saucepan, cover with lightly salted water and boil for ~15 minutes or until cooked. Drain and mash to your liking [milk+butter etc].

Once the stock/mince has been on for about an hour, add the gravy granules, mix well and then serve by pouring over the potatoes.

Adjust accordingly for amount of people served. :P

God damnit I'm in the mood for that now. So good.
nope.

Steak au poivre is better when you mix it up with green and red peppercorns, not just black.

As for my favorite thing to cook? Depends what I have. Usually porkchops. :awesome:

I cook often.. but I don't have any recipes. I will say a few of my favorite things.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
Crushed Red Pepper.
Italian Seasoning.

that is all.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Lassev: I guess there was something captivating in savagery, because I liked it.
