what musical instruments can you play?
2008-03-02, 6:38 PM #1
basicly, this is the thread where you post what musical instruments that you can play.

I can play the;

recorder (it is a musical instrument damnit, if you dont think it is, I DARE you to go to a muscicians forum and say that)

the clarinet

the piano

the flute

and the cello.

though currently I do not own a clarinet and I think that I lost my recorder long ago (or got rid of it), I have a keyboard that works fine though, my flute is in dire need of replacement (as the cost of getting it repaired is greater than the flute's actual value) and my cello has been lieing around a lot, and would take too long to set up (as the bridge is no longer set up).

Oh yeah, I didn't even think of that. I sing, too. I'm really good. In my car. With the music turned up loud. With no one around. Trust me.

Uh... that's not good. Violin-family instruments are designed to have a certain amount of tension at all times, and if you lose that tension, the sound post can fall or slip out of place.

I once had a really vivid dream in which I was playing a three-stringed, fretted doshpuluur. When I woke up, I retuned a mandolin missing one of its courses to the same tuning as the doshpuluur in my dream, and was able to play it.

piano - well
guitar - ok
violin/cello - ok meh (i say cello too as i playmy violin in the cello position sometimes)

I'm best at studio recording software, synths, fruityloops, cubse. I feel it qualifies, as higher levels of mastering techniques require pitch perfect hearing, innermetronome, intelligence, and a general talent ofmusic :colbert:

Guitar, trombone, piano. I was a music major (trombone performance) for 2 years before switching to my current major.

I play the bass very well. That's about it.

I used to play snare drum while I was in school, and got a scholarship to play at the university, but I didn't like the band director and gave them their scholarship back. All that said, give me a few weeks and some sticks, and I could probably play snare again pretty well.
