SAW movie

Seems interesting ... maybe spoilers
Quote:
Saw is like the result of director James Wan and scribe/co-star Leigh Whannell sitting down with one of those brain teaser books (you know - In an otherwise empty room, a dead man hangs from a noose 12 feet from the floor, a water puddle at his feet. How did he die?) and saying "Hey, we can come up with stuff way more sadistic than that!" And thus they proceed to do so with all the conviction of a certified maniac, crafting their gleefully morbid machinations into a relentless, labyrinthine mindblender that gains its momentum from a creeping dread, escalating into a hypnotic cyclone of untethered dementia.

discuss and post your favourite horror/thriller movie.

Is that the one with Ash and he says the famous "boomstick" line?

I don't think I've ever sat through the whole movie, but when I catch the beginning, I ALWAYS watch up to that point.

I've seen bits of the Evil Dead movies and thought it looked pretty good. I really need to get them out on DVD one day.

Saw looks like a new Se7en mixed with some influence from Dr. H. Holmes (Herman Mudgett was his real name I think...).

Also post what kind of horror you like (ie. gore, chills, thrillers, suspense (a la hitchcock)) and any movies you thought had a clever twist at the end. I just wanna see what kind of horror people are into.

I myself like gothic thrillers (the bone collector, se7en, etc...), suspense and the occasional gorey flick with scantily clad women [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif] .

I love the Evil Dead trilogy, but I have trouble taking them seriously as horror

Other than them, my favorites are Se7en (which isn't really horror per se, but the end always gives me chills) and Session 9.
