Tunicates are weird. They spend their youth as larvae that look practically the same as other basic chordates like lancelets and then when they mature they seem to go "screw all these mobility advantages I'm going to stick to a rock, turn into a tube and filter bits of food out the water and become almost completely immobile".
We're sorta like permanent child tunicates :P
