4 miles, 3000 feet of elevation gain, knocked it out in two and a half hours. So we proceeded to climb the rest of the range. It was an awesome day to be outside.

Rest of the videos:

Approaching treeline
Leaving treeline
Above treeline
Ascending through the alpine zone
Approaching the summit

Wow, that's pretty awesome if I do say so myself. I don't think I have the balls to mountain climb.

Dammit you make me jealous DS! What are you doing these days? Last I heard you were helping at some camp over the summer?

I'm off to Snowdonia this weekend, crap weather on its way though. I'll post some pics if we ever get out of the clouds. Haven't seen any good snow cover in the UK for a while either, I need to emigrate :smith:

EDIT:
The weather was some of the worst I've been in on the hills. No idea what the speed the wind was doing, it was forecast for 60mph but we walked through some areas where it had been funnelled. It was strong enough to physically stop some of the group and it felt about as hard as pushing in a maul in a rugby match. So the hike got cut short over safety concerns and I had to lead the group back down a boring track. :(
Looking at the news now it seems like we got the precursor to some big-*** horrible storm on its way http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7285859.stm

You've been browsing youtube for mountaineering videos?

Fun. I'd like to do more of this during the summer. I'll have to stick with day hikes until then.
