Is a freaking crazy game. Picked it up on Friday, have probably played like 20+ hours since. I'm blown away by how much fun it is to play the drums, and rocking out with a group is just fun^12341234. And now I pretty much have to listen to all my music again with special attention to the drums ;p RB is pretty much my first drumming experience and it certainly won't be my last.

I haven't played online yet, so I'm not sure how it works, but on 360 my gamertag is Boomba19 if anyone wants to play.

I glazed over the DLC, some of it looks alright but very expensive... I really wish they'd come up with a Muse pack. More Radiohead/Foo Fighters/RHCP would be great too. 45 songs is nowhere near enough!

Me and my friends just made a band--I'm the singer. We all play on expert, and are going through world tour. Crazy ****ing awesome.

so 4give my ignorance but i take it you have to turn the game up pretty loud so the players (particularly the singer) don't sound silly?

naturally... i mean it's funny when watching someone play it in a store because you can't hear the drums in the song over the tapping on the drum pads

and the clicking of the strum bar on a guitar controller...

add a singer to this especially if they can't sing to save their own life...

The Rock Band guitar doesn't click when you strum.

I've been thinking of getting it. I already have the GH2 360 guitar, so all I'd have to buy is the game and drums.

That's probably the best thing to do since the rock band guitar is awful.

I love Rock Band.

Suggestion, is making felt covers for your drum kit to soften the sound; use felt and a piece of paper, cut out the circles and stick the felt to the paper. Then it will just sit on the top of the drum. As far as I know there are cushions hitting the market soon too.

I like the RB Guitar more than the GH guitars.

i played guitar hero once and some of the songs are harder in game than on a guitar what the **** is going on there

My friend recently bought it for his ps3 and I love it!! I play guitar and drums anyway which I think makes the game super easy.

It's ridiculously fun, I can't describe how awesome it is. I've had a couple different experiences with 4 player setups now, running the gambit from completely new players, to hardened mscbuck-like guitar gods, all with varying levels of inebriation. It's just fun across the board.

I love love love the drums. When I really get into the zone and it all syncs up, it's a great feeling. I'm still pretty good on guitar, but I have an issue with consistency, I can do some on expert with ease, but on others can barely do hard.

Really fun game, also, great downloadable content.

What exactly is to hate about the RB guitar? As far as I can tell, everyone seem to like it except people who are attached to the clicker in GH. The neck and solo buttons are awesome. I had a lot of trouble using the RB strum bar at first, even though I played guitar a little IRL. Then I used a pick with the RB guitar. It was like everything just made sense :) You can easily do alternating strum patterns on the RB guitar if you use a pick.

Yeah, basically. Especially people that can play Through Fire and Flames on expert. :colbert:

As a seasoned player of both, my opinion on the Rock Band guitar stands with Detty here. To me, the Rock Band guitar feels like cheap cheap cheap plastic (the Les Paul that came with GH3 fixed the very plasticy Xplorer/SG, although I'm a huge fan of the Xplorer).

The buttons to me are terrible, the solo buttons are basically worthless (and in my opinion stupid).I mean, I understand that this is not supposed to be replacing a real guitar, but I mean...I'm pretty sure you have to strum at least once in a guitar solo that goes for a minute.

I really do hate the strum bar and it's shape. Much prefer the GH3 strum bar.

And to that comment about TTFAF on Expert, the clicker really isn't necessary to do well or beat that song. The entire opening you never strum, and much of the song is HO/POs regardless. Like the main rhythm obviously you strum, but if you can beat that, I'm pretty sure the clicker isn't really a factor, and at that point it's more skill.

Regardless, I'm getting the drums for Rock Band this week. I'm super excited. I've played the drums alot with friends, to the point where usually Medium is my kind of "fun" level and Hard is a challenge for me. I'm hoping to fix that and ro><orz the drums.

The point is that if you can play that song on expert you are probably very accustomed to the GH controllers.

Ah, I see, I misunderstood. Most definitely true.

However, I think that if you were that skilled, moving to the RB controller wouldn't be that much of a problem. It took me a while to get used to it, then I just went to "man...i want my GH controller back".

Anyways, make sure to download the Metallica DLC for Rock Band. It's probably the best pack there is, and probably features the toughest overall tracks in the game if you are looking for a challenge. The Ride the Lightning / Blackened solo's are just killer. The drums are also gut bustlingly hard, but still awesome.

Heh, a few months ago we actually had a real guitarist, a real drummer and a trained vocalist all playing Rock Band at the same time. :awesome:

When I find a new flat with my friend the living room is going to have:
- Rock Band
- Guitar Hero 1-3+80s
- Electric Drumkit
- Several (maybe 4 or 5) Guitars
- A Bass
- A midi keyboard (eventually electric piano)

Does anyone know any software to use the RB drums as a poor man's electric drums on PC?

I've heard it's been done, but I don't have any links for you.
