...Massassi will be ten years old. A decade of this site's existence.

Wow.

It'll be 9 years for me this November.

I think I started lurking Sept 99, so nine-ish years for me.

Man, we're old.
2008-03-20, 2:39 AM #11
Hah, wow. How old would people like TE or Zloc have been when this site started? I've been registered here for 5 years after Jagged Conscience (does anyone else remember him?) convinced me to sign up back when we were at school together.

7 years for me. That's actually pretty creepy. Yet I actually found TACC first, then got here for some JED tutorials.

Then again, it would be creepier if I had actually read the 5600 Block readme file in 1998 when I got the level from JKOutpost. That could have changed so many things. Or then not.

I recall being especially active c.2000-? (Edit: Not even close; 2002 apparently), then I defected to TACC to do some writing and came back on odd occasions and have been off the radar ever since until yesterday. Part of that was sinfully trading in the entire JK series for a pittance a few years back, realising my mistake, and re-buying them all again recently.

So I guess this can qualify as my 'I'm back' post, and it's astounding to think that Massassi is half as old as I am, and still a decade is a long time.

Now then, what have I missed while I've been away?

Who remembers Outpost D-34?

I ended up on Outpost D-34 a few weeks before it died, thinking that SWTTC was one of the coolest things ever (I downloaded the trailer too) and then no more they were... or were they, where they were... kind of stuff.

Then Burrie said he had some nice levels on a HD of his that was like 10 meters away from him but he never bothered sending those stuffs to me.

I never would have thought this place to outlast JK as long as it has, good community for the most part though.

I first came to Massassi in January of 2000. A little while after that, I registered on the forums. I had a couple different names prior to registering Zecks in October of 2000. So, it's been 8 years. That certainly does seem like such a long time.
2008-03-20, 12:57 PM #27
7 years for me, although it took me months to graduate to the forums from the levels commenting system.

Sometime in late 98 or early 99 for me. Started when it was on jedinights. Had a different name for a large portion of those years though. DeathKow, what a stupid *** name. Wish I had never been talked into that.

According to gbk's registration date he's been here nearly 7 years, probably longer under a different name?
