Hey I got a S-Video cable to hook up to my TV So I could watch videos on my TV instead of my Computer

It works fine for the most part except, if i play a game like JK or MotS and then I wanna watch a movie after it does not work at all... all I will see is the desktop and a black screen in the player :smith:

The only way how i can get it to work again is to restart, at first I didnt mind but now its getting annoying, does anyone know a way to fix this?

What method are you using to connect to the second display? It sounds like you're using some theater mode that's often available with nVidia or ATI software. Try doing a straight clone or extended display.

with ATI theater mode only works in extended display.

this is going to sound wierd andrew, but try switching the port your monitor(main display) is hooked up to on the video card if you have that option. i had an issue with mine where theater mode worked when the main display was plugged into one port and didnt when plugged into the other.

wierd but it solved my issue.

make sure you go into display properties and disable the "extend my desktop" option for the second display before you disconect it.
that works for me and i had the same problem.

I Have a Nvidia card btw forgot to mention that

I ran the TV setup wizard... and i have 3 options

span, dual view, or clone... I had it on clone so it showed the same thing i saw on my TV... so i guess i want to do dual view? or span?

Dual View should be what you want, so that video plays properly on the second display. If that doesn't work, then you need to set your TV to primary display, as video will only display on it. When I've tried to play video on my TV and play games at the same time, the game (or video, forgot), would flicker like crazy.

have you tried right clicking and going into display properties and just extending your desktop? i've used this to connect my computer to tv's using s-video and hdmi. it might be easier than going through the nvidia software.
