Alright, here's the deal. If any of you have been paying attention, I've been doing a fair amount of work in Flash to implement 3D rendering. (like this)
I just got Flash CS3, and given the newer features and better performance I'm hoping to be able to improve it to include things like smooth shading, texture mapping, normal mapping, etc.
Which brings me to my question. For both programmers and internet users, what would be a 'good' use for this (if any)?
Some ideas that I've had:
- Open source renderer/3D drawing API. Allow programmers to use the functionality however they see fit.
- Online 3D modeling/rendering application. Allow all internet users to model geometry, paint textures, and render nice looking pictures of their creations
- Online 3D animating application. Allow users to animate prefabricated models and save the results/send them to friends.
- 3D Flash game. I have an idea for one, but I think I'd rather use OpenGL to make it.
So what I'm looking for is your input. Is there anything you can think of that would be fun/useful with this?
