Anyone know where I can get a free FTP program that allows CHmodding?

Windows FTP client. =P

Of course then you have to do the whole quoting thing manually for each individual file.

Smart FTP is great for it though, and just simplifies it down to clicking checkboxes in the properties. It also allows CHMODding of multiple files at once, which some programs do not.

SmartFTP is great, its what i use. It's shareware for commercial use, but I think its still free for personal use.

I use directory opus as my file manager / ftp client. Never bothered doing anything with chmodding with it though so i couldn't say. I imagine it does though.

With the amount of stuff i transfer to/from my server being able to open it in a dual pane with the local tree and folderview is godly.

I got the program Brian suggested. But now when I CHmod my file, it goes to the number I want. But then as soon as I check it, it goes back:S Any ideas on how to fix this?

You might also want to check after you CHMOD that the FTP client updated its cache of the directory. Usually F5 will refresh it.

Argh... its still not working. I'm trying to CHmod a folder to 666, but when I set it and refresh, its chmodded to 766. I have no clue what to do here.

Folders have to be executable.

"666" is "read/writable for everyone".

"766" is "read/writable for everyone, executable for owner"

You problably want 777, "read/writable/executable for everyone".
