overlord--themexp.org. Get the uxtheme.dll patcher, preferrably I think it's multipatcher? Something like that. Anything that'll patch uxtheme.dll. Make sure to make a backup first, just in case. Yeah, fun times.

And the survey say... Nope! [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

I use windowblinds for the windows (literally!), including the way you can roll them up (see screeny), the dock on the LHS is objectdock, and the bar at the top is objectbar.

They're all "public" versions of stuff from stardock.com, comletely legal, just have nagging popups when you boot up. (I'm buying them all and a ****load more for US$50 when I get paid, because I REALLY like the proggies) They're full versions too, apart from little tiny bits of windowblinds.

You can get them all from download.com, just search for the names I gave above! [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

EDIT: A little drunk, realises he's mised off vital details - for the themes go to www.wincustomize.com and you're looking for "Ice" in both the windowblinds section and the objectbar section - but you do need the programs before you get the themes!! Happy winmodding! (Oh, and it's all self explanitory - I didn't need any tutorials, and I'm fairly simple when it comes to this stuff!)

Knoppix

[edit] oh yeah, i also have a souped-up 486 in my closet with red hat that i use as a file and print server (but not a web server yet)

BTW, I know its common to name boats, planes, ships, etc. and refer to them using a feminine pronoun, but doing that with linux boxes in GBK's case is kind of stretching the tradition. to me, a computer is more of an 'it". its not like a boat or something like that.

My physical tower is named TK-421, after the way the front is reminiscent of a stormtrooper faceplate.

The previous tower was named Zarathustra as it was massive and monolithic, and the theme for massive enigmatic monoliths in 2001 is Thus Spake Zarathustra [after a book by Nietzsche]

The metaphysical computerness of it however has been consistently FNORD [Foundation for Neo-cognitive
and Ontological Research and Development]
Though, it is shared on the network as Eeyore.

My C Drive is named rather uncreatively sysjunk.

My D drive [games/music primarily] is named Vogon, because it is large [well only 60G] and square and dangerous.

And my E drive [personal data and projects and so forth dating back many years] is named Hedge, mostly after the girl in HGttG who believed herself to be a Hedgehog.

With the help of Dormouse, I'm running bb4win on my laptop. I looked for KDE for Windows but all it is just KDE running ON TOP of Windows. I want an actual shell replacement. No don't throw litestep at me. I used it and I didn't like it.

If there are other shells out there for Windows, throw them at me.
