Does it indicate that you are an organ donor on your license? Maybe I will when I get my license.

I'm an organ donor.

There should be a heart icon on one of the corners of the card. If there isn't, you filled out something wrong.

Depends on the state. In California, there's a little round, red sticker that you put on the license and a little sheet of paper that you sign to indicate your intentions.

Over here we just get a (paper) card that we're supposed to keep with our license if we want our organs donated. There's also a similar card that is to be kept with your loved ones.

It's stupid, mine is all folded and such from me constantly taking my license out of my wallet to get into bars. A sticker or something on the license itself would be so much easier.

Warlockmish with a license is a clear indication that the system is flawed and is in need of aggressive reform.

Funny, I thought the "heart icon" would be the easily recognized symbol throughout the country. Like a standardized image.

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if California is special when it comes to leading with "donations" of organs..

In Kansas it just says on the front of the license card below your picture in plain English that you're an "organ donor". No stickers or symbols or anything, just those two words.

I've got the heart.

Anyone who isn't an organ donor is a jerk.

Some religious people are against it and those who just don't like the idea of their organs being examined are against it as well.

I'm registered.

I also give blood, because who needs blood.

I'm not sure if I can register. I know I can't give blood, being diabetic. I wouldn't mind having my organs used after I died, though, as long as they left enough of me to fuel the cremation >.>

Yes, it's exceedingly selfish to think that you need your organs when you're dead.

I asked for it to be put on as one, but the DMV people said it wasn't worth it and that the doctors would just take my organs anyway. I'm going to be getting a new license soon...so maybe this time? I probably have some pretty decent organs as I don't smoke and no longer drink. >_>

Absolutely put it on there. Not only are they legally bound not to take your organs if you don't have it marked as such, but it requires special treatment of your body in order to save the organs in many cases, which they won't do if they don't see organ donor.

Anyway, Ohio's has the whole heart thing, with organ donor printed on it.

Yes. Why not?

Yes.

All of my friends (******* type) say "they'll do less to save you if you are an organ donor!" They make it seem like doctors are taking your organs and using them in their own personal blackmarket surgery.

South Carolina licenses have a red heart icon with a little "Y" inside of it. It is on my license.

I signed up so that I could help someone in need, although what will most likely happen is some of my forearm skin will go to some fat arab rich guy getting a penis enlargement.

I'm a donor, but the appearance of a body after its organs have been harvested (see Six Feet Under) makes me squeamish. Regardless, still an organ donor.

If someone's organs can't keep them alive, maybe they should take a hint and die already.
