So my coworker comes up to me the other day, and tells me a random statistic.

She says, "Did you know a polar bear can eat 27 penguins in one sitting?"

D:

Why do people like to make up bull**** statistics on the spot?

Discuss.

I agree with Rob. People should have to get a license to post here.

I think you both have failed to realize that

PENGUINS AND POLAR BEARS LIVE ON OPPOSITE SIDES OF THIS PLANET

Sorry, statistics don't often go into the negatives.

Um, no, a polar bear can easily eat 27 penguins. The key word is "can" which coincidentally connects with coca cola. Everyone except coca cola knows they live at opposite poles.

I don't know if this counts, but I sometimes say stuff like "98% of my job is doing [x]". In those cases it's obvious that I'm just making it up.

Coca-Cola is made in Atlanta, Georgia. Do you know what the average IQ is in Georgia? Low enough to believe that penguins and polar bears live together in harmony.

90% of statistics can be made to mean anything 50% of the time.

Also, 100% of people are women 51% of the time, and 100% of women are stupid 90% of the time, therefore 100% of people are 141% stupid 49% of the time.

Nearly 100% of the statistics I cite in almost all situations are completely made-up, and at least 50% of them are also completely outrageous. I do this because it amuses me to see whether people will believe them.

If I were a polar bear I'd eat 27 penguins. Assuming someone delivered said penguins. 'Cause I'm not going to swim 12,000 miles just to teach those feathery bastards a lesson.
