You can make PDFs straight from OpenOffice

for word 2007 you can download an add-in to save to .pdf

I dunno if you use a Mac, but you can print to a PDF from any application.

I can teach you how to create them programmatically with perl or php, but it's not worth it.

I was actually trying to learn perl in my spare time at work, because all the machines have active perl running.. but I gave up on it, because I can't get enough time on the machine to get anywhere.

i've got open office. i didn't realize it would export as pdf. i'll try this before i download another suggestion.

Pretty much everytime I go on the internet, I open a PDF. I have tons of PDFs on my hardrive.

PDFs can be quite convenient, it's just that some stuff I see don't really need to be in PDF in the first place. Pretty much any relatively up-to-date computer can easily run them, low-end models struggle still.

There should be a little icon next to the printer that says PDF on the bottom.
