Checking Microsoft Product Keys
2008-04-21, 1:47 PM #1
Does anybody know how to check to see if a product key is valid? I need this for two reasons. 1. I am selling my Mac OSX tiger to somebody, but not sure how many installs are left (10 originally). 2. I am purchasing the new Microsoft Office 08 and want to check that the product key that the seller provided to me is valid and not some scam.

Anybody have any ideas?

Give it to me. I'll "verify" it for you.

There, I said it. It was going to be said, so hopefully this will stem the onslaught of "give me ur keys, im trustable" jokes.

Wait... there's a limit on how many computers you can install your Mac OS on? >_> I guess I take the lack of serial number as reason for free-reign.

Give it to me. I'll install office 87 times off a pirate ISO untill it gets blacklisted.
Then you can be sure.

You can e-mail Apple Support and ask them how one would go about doing this.

Pretty sure license isn't transferable.

You have to read, some are, some aren't. Depends on how you bought your computer.

I buy all mine through Dell EPP business purchaser mcthings, so I know for sure I can't transfer OS.
