So much work. How long did it take you? We're overclocking machines at school for the editing bay. So much work.

Uh...let's see.

BIOS - set from 204mhz (stock) to 300Mhz. Bump voltage to 1.405v. Reset RAM divider.

A minute or two? It did take a few minutes to swap out the stock HSF for the Arctic Freezer 7.. :)

I had it running at stock voltage / stock cooling / 250mhz x10 (2.5Ghz) for a while, but now that I'm no longer on the retail HSF, I thought I'd notch it up a bit. I've had ORTHOS running for an hour now - core temps are 54c.

With chips now days you don't really have to be that careful up to a certain point.

True. I haven't overclocked a modern machine in my life.

I found a post on Anandtech where some dude had the same board/cpu I have, so I just used his settings and hoped for the best. Needless to say, it works! :D

overclocking is easy as hell these days, especially with abit/asus mobos.

nice. good choice, i got the ip35 pro. does the ip35-e have uguru capability? if so, there was no need for you to go into bios to overclock. also, go abit! (i do prefer my abit mobo over my old asus)

I'm not sure...I'll have to check the driver CD and see if it's on there.

I've been too scared / lazy to overclock since one of my machines kept overheating inexplicably. Later found out that it was a mismounted heatsink that only just started to cause problems, though.

Might be because I can't really see a huge performance leap occurring, so why bother.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

My 3dMark CPU score is ~2100 at 2.5Ghz and over 2500 at 3Ghz..that's significant, IMO.

I wish I could overclock my t5250. 1.5 GHz is really painful sometimes.

My old 3600+ runs 23Mhz slower than a stock 4800... :P
