If I venture to guess, the reason why these trailers seem to be the same is that they use the same "trailer model" or something like that. There must be a book or whatever on the models of good movie trailers that include the right moments to have dialog, character moments, action scenes, overhead shots, fade-outs, so forth. Like a choreographic dance or rhythm of sorts.

There must be a whole genre of film just devoted to making good movie trailers. If The Phantom Menace taught us anything, fantastic trailers are the real reason why money comes in.

Either way, awesome.
nope.
2008-04-29, 11:07 AM #14
The movie trailers are similar because the Batman '89 trailer on top is a fan-made trailer that came out after the initial release of TDK trailer. The real Batman '89 trailer is significantly different.

That's probably a better explanation. :(

Yeah I was pretty skeptical that the original 89 trailer was anything like that. 80s trailers weren't that classy.

The creepiest line in that movie was definitely, "have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?"

You are not. Batman Returns is way better.

I just see them as radically different movies that happen to be about the same character.

Yay! I love me some Michelle Pfieffer.

Batman Returns is just so much darker and more atmospheric - Burton really put his mark on it. The original really bears the mark of the 80s, which is kinda hard to get past.
