We're putting together a game for friday evening. Something like 11pm est.

We can play lots of different game types, but free run seems to be the most fun because of how random it is.

Shouldnt you specify X360 or PS3? or do they get to play together? (I havent really read up on multiplayer)

I'd love to come run you over with a car but I already dished out some cash on a few new 360 games recently. Poor timing really, didn't realize that GTAIV would be out so soon.

FYI, anyone in our Steam community can post events for anything, even games that aren't on Steam. So seriously, feel free to use it because alot of us just idle on steam all day.

Is the multiplayer all that it's hyped up to be? I'm sure some of you who own the GTA Series for the PC have probably tried the modded Multi-Theft-Auto. Obviously the netcode would be more stable, and the gameplay modes fine-tuned, but Multi-Theft Auto was really boring due to lack of civilians when playing in Multiplayer, and 6 people driving around in the entire game makes for a pretty boring experience pretty fast.

How is this different and/or better?

It's way better than MTA--besides the civvies and cops (there aren't as many as in SP I think) the gameplay is better suited for multiplayer combat, with balanced weapon pickups, less lag, and it's just a better game than the previous ones anyway.

Cool, I'll probably be getting it sometime soon then, though with games like this I'll be so behind when I finally wind up getting it because people play the crap out of hits like these when they're released.

Anyone who played GTA2 multiplayer should know that when rockstar does it, its fun. Even though it became a never ending battle for who controlled the tank.

Don't think I'll be able to make it. I was supposed to be helping my friend move tomorrow, but his place is vacant now and he wants to do it tonight instead. We aren't starting til 8. If you guys are playing way into the night there's a chance I'll be able to join in, but we'll see.

I saw the Steam update, but already knew about the event.

Connection Problem blew my truck up. He did me a favor though. I swear the flatbed is the slowest truck. At least I beat him with my Faggio.

They should have a race mode where you keep your vehicle when you die but you can still shoot and stuff. :(

Truck race was pretty hilarious. On like the second corner or so, somebody took an inside edge on me and forced me off the highway. I plunged into the water below, and after that it was pretty much just a vendetta against anyone who still had a truck - I didn't know that you could continue the race in another vehicle.

Then I almost didn't make it up the hill on the onramp. I swore you were going to kill my face off with the Rocket Launcher. :(
